Federally qualified health centers “provide comprehensive healthcare services to underserved communities,” according to the SC Department of Health and Human Services' website.

Duke, an SC native, is a former registered nurse with more than 30 years in healthcare executive leadership, according to an April 22 statement.

Wayne Wallace, Sandhills Medical Foundation Inc.'s board chairman, said in the statement, “For nearly 50 years, Sandhills Medical has existed to serve rural communities that had limited or no access to medical care, and as we look forward to the next 50 years, it is essential that we have effective leadership in place to continue that mission. We are confident that Amanda’s background and strong vision will help us evolve and meet the unique needs of our patients.”

Sandhills Medical announced Ocloo's appointment in a separate statement dated April 28. Ocloo will lead the organization's technology strategy. and oversee information systems, cybersecurity and data governance, the statement said, adding that “Ocloo joins Sandhills through a strategic partnership with Kintegra Health, where he continues to serve as CIO.”
Kintegra has its administrative offices in Gastonia, NC.

Duke said in the statement, “Sena will be instrumental in helping us strengthen our infrastructure and build a top-notch internal team that enables us to better serve the communities that count on us.”

In a statement also dated April 28, Sandhills Medical announced that the information of a “select group of patients” had been accessed by an unauthorized third party in a cybersecurity incident last May.

The company “has enhanced its network protocols and engaged new information technology partners to further enhance security and protect against similar incidents in the future [and is] providing affected individuals with access to credit monitoring and proactive fraud assistance services at no charge,” the statement said.
